My thoughts:

When I first read Losing It last year, I immediately wanted to share it with anyone and everyone. It was perhaps after reading it that I first got the inkling that I wanted to start this blog.

In Cora Carmack’s first novel and one of THE.BEST. examples of the New Adult genre, to date, she truly hits it out of the park. The awkward, but oh so real, Bliss and the gloriously amazing and sexy Garrick are an amazing pair. Their chemistry smolders and practically flies off the page.

“Sorry. Got carried away.”

Those were exactly the right words. Carried away. I had never been so caught up in another person before. I’d never been so… out of control. It at once excited and terrified me.

His face appeared before mine, and I tried to keep my expression neutral. His hand slid out of my shirt, and I shivered, my skin mourning the loss.

I laughed, but inside I was giving the middle finger to reason. It had ruled me long enough.

Complications abound: fake pet cats, motorcycle burns, a sexy, yet sweet mono epidemic, and so much more. With a good dose of humor and sexiness throughout, Bliss and Garrick manage to navigate through all the complications to an extremely satisfying conclusion.

Incidentally, I have to tell you, even though Carmack features a not-quite love triangle, I pretty completely fell in love with the best friend Cade as well. GOOD THING HE’S GETTING HIS OWN BOOK!

The Final Verdict:

From Page 1, Cora Carmack gives us a novel so unique and entirely charming (even in its awkwardness) that it’s easy to understand all of the resounding success of Losing It. She not only creates two very strong and believably real and relatable protagonists, but she introduces us to an ensemble cast that makes you crave to know more. (Fortunately, we will be put out of our misery with two more books from Cade and Kelsey). I laughed, I cringed, and I certainly related. This was a wonderful book full of heart and delightful humor that I would recommend to anyone.
