HELLO, lovely readers! Today is the last day of May and tomorrow kicks off the month of June! Before we know it, summer will be here! Now, if you're here, you are probably like me and think reading at any time of the year is the best thing ever....but there's something special about reading during the summer.
I remember being out of school for the summer and reading MY choice of books all through the night...because, guess what? NO SCHOOL the next day! Or taking my latest book buys out on the road with me on vacation! Or maybe just hitting the beach on the weekend and basking in the sunshine while basking in a good book.
Whether you chose to read your books in bed, late into the night, by plane, train, or automobile, at the beach, in the great outdoors, or from the comfort of the living room couch, Summer is a fantastic time to catch up with all those new and old books that are on your To Be Read List (ahem, mountain).
I'm going to share with you some of my Summer TBRs (both old and new). I have a little bit of everything here and maybe, you might just add another book to your own list! PLUS, I have an AMAZING GIVEAWAY to help you along on your quest for Summertime Reading!
But first, in case you're new to this challenge...This summer of fun was put together by my awesome friends, Kim from KimberlyFaye Reads and Betsy from BookNerd Betsy! There will be new challenges each week with giveaways galore PLUS a giant, awesome, stupendous, SECRET prize at the end of the whole thing!
Ready for some fun?
My Summertime Reads!
Here are just a few of the books that have been on my TBR mountain! Plus, I'll be featuring a few more below.
The Book Series that I'm Ashamed That I Haven't Read:
I've heard so so many rave reviews of this series and I've owned it forever just waiting for the time. I think this summer is the perfect time to start and finish a brand new (to me) series!

Under the Never Sky / Through the Ever Night / Into the Still Blue (+ 2 novellas) by Veronica Rossi
Publication Date: 2011-2014
Genre: Young Adult Paranormal Romance
Synopsis of Book 1:
WORLDS KEPT THEM APART.
DESTINY BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER.
Aria has lived her whole life in the protected dome of Reverie. Her entire world confined to its spaces, she's never thought to dream of what lies beyond its doors. So when her mother goes missing, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland long enough to find her are slim.
Then Aria meets an outsider named Perry. He's searching for someone too. He's also wild - a savage - but might be her best hope at staying alive.
If they can survive, they are each other's best hope for finding answers.
Because It's Not Summer Without Baseball:
I'm so excited to read this debut novel! It's from the male MC's point of view, which I LOVE and I've heard that even if baseball's not your thing, this is still a book that you'll enjoy!
Play On by Michelle SmithPublication Date: April 21, 2015Genre: Young Adult Contemporary RomanceBaseball, family and breaking free from the confines of small town thinking — Play On is a Southern charmer with a lot of heart!" - Robin Constantine, author of The Promise of Amazing
In the small town of Lewis Creek, baseball is everything. Especially for all-star pitcher Austin Braxton, who has a one-way ticket out of town with his scholarship to a top university. All that stands between him and a new start is one final season. But when Austin starts flunking Chemistry, his picture-perfect future is in jeopardy. A failing grade means zero playing time, and zero playing time means no scholarship.
Enter Marisa Marlowe, the new girl in town who gets a job at his momma's flower shop. Not only is Marisa some home-schooled super-genius, she's also a baseball fanatic and more than willing to help Austin study. As the two grow closer, there's something about Marisa that makes Austin want more than just baseball and out of Lewis Creek--he wants a future with her. But Marisa has a past that still haunts her, one that she ran all the way to South Carolina to escape.
As Austin starts to peel back the layers of Marisa s pain, it forces him to look beyond the facade of himself and everyone he thought he knew in his town. What he sees instead is that in a small town like Lewis Creek, maybe baseball isn t everything--maybe it is just the thing that ties them all together."
Because Love is Love, Regardless of Season or Time:
I have heard so so many good things about this series! And I've never read a time traveling novel, so I'm excited for this one...
Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland StonePublication Date: October 9, 2012Genre: Young Adult RomanceAnna and Bennett were never supposed to meet: she lives in 1995 Chicago and he lives in 2012 San Francisco. But Bennett has the unique ability to travel through time and space, which brings him into Anna’s life, and with him a new world of adventure and possibility.
As their relationship deepens, the two face the reality that time may knock Bennett back to where he belongs, even as a devastating crisis throws everything they believe into question. Against a ticking clock, Anna and Bennett are forced to ask themselves how far they can push the bounds of fate, what consequences they can bear in order to stay together, and whether their love can stand the test of time.
Fresh, exciting, and deeply romantic, Time Between Us is a stunning, spellbinding debut from an extraordinary new voice in YA fiction.
Because The Fine Line Between Love & Hate Makes for a Good Read:
I just really liked the synopsis of this one! Imagine the tension filled chemistry!
Magnolia by Kristie CookPublication Date: August 5, 2014Genre: Young Adult Contemporary RomanceIn Magnolia Branch, Mississippi, the Cafferty and Marsden families are southern royalty. Neighbors since the Civil War, the families have shared vacations, holidays, backyard barbecues, and the overwhelming desire to unite their two clans by marriage. So when a baby boy and girl were born to the families at the same time, the perfect opportunity seemed to have finally arrived.
Jemma Cafferty and Ryder Marsden have no intention of giving in to their parents’ wishes. They’re only seventeen, for goodness’ sake, not to mention that one little problem: They hate each other! Jemma can’t stand Ryder’s nauseating golden-boy persona, and Ryder would like nothing better than to pretend stubborn Jemma doesn’t exist.
But when a violent storm ravages Magnolia Branch, it unearths Jemma’s and Ryder’s true feelings for each other as the two discover that the line between love and hate may be thin enough to risk crossing over.
The Finale that I've Been Scared to Read:

Some loves will last 'til your dying breath

Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction.
Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell…
