Hello my darlings! Today is my stop of the A Little Too Far Blog Tour hosted by the lovely Lisa from A Life Bound by Books

But before we begin, let's get the lowdown on the book, shall we?

A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers
Publication Date: September 17th, 2013 (eBook), October 1st, 2013 (Print)
Genre: New Adult Contemporary

Synopsis:
Have you ever gone just a little too far?

Lexie Banks has.

Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for the better part of the last few years … and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome.

But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt … and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy-on-the-eyes deacon … only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either way.

* * * * * * * * * * * * *
Lexie is here to give us a top 10 list of things you need to know about her guy....only problem? She currently has two incredible men in her life...so let's split it up, shall we? The floor is yours, Lexie!

Five things about Trent:
1) He has brown eyes the color of melted chocolate that I could swim in.
2) He knows my heart and my soul, probably better than I do.
3) Above all, he’s a bohemian at heart.
4) He has no idea how talented he is. When he sings, it takes my breath away.
5) He’s my soul mate.

Five things about Alessandro:
1) He is the best person I know.
2) He doesn’t believe that about himself.
3) He isn’t nearly as together as he seems, but considering his past, he’s amazingly together.
4) He doesn’t think he deserves to be happy.
5) His demons are going to eat him alive if he doesn’t figure out a way to face them down.

About the Author:

Lisa Desrochers lives in central California with her husband and two very busy daughters. There is never a time that she can be found without a book in her hand, and she adores stories that take her to new places, and then take her by surprise.

Look for her New Adult novel, A LITTLE TOO FAR , courtesy of HarperCollins Sept 2013, and the first companion, A LITTLE TOO MUCH , in Nov 2013. Also in stores is her YA PERSONAL DEMONS trilogy (Macmillan).

My review:
Two wrongs make it right in this deliciously forbidden story about finding yourself and finding the person who makes you whole.

From the beginning this plot synopsis gripped at me. It gave me the chills and the feeling of wrongness about the two choices Lexie is facing. But at the same time I NEEDED to know what happens. It's a sense of morbid curiosity, one might call it. How does one chose between a step brother and a soon to be priest? Well, I couldn't even begin to touch that choice with a ten foot pole. And that's what makes this novel so intriguing. Desrochers has created a sexy, passionate story that leaves the reader truly in a state of lust, love, and confusion right there along side of Lexie. And she just goes for it, unapologetically full steam ahead.

Both men are pretty damn amazing, but you do end up spending more time with one over the other. I'm not going to give away any spoilers here. But I felt a lot of conflict over the ending. Logically, I think the choice Lexie makes is the right one. Though it did feel a bit sudden or rushed to me. It was like jumping from a plane, leaning over the edge just as gravity takes effect. Wait! Wait! I'm not ready yet! But in that free fall I realize that in a complex book with impossible decisions, a bit of internal conflict isn't a bad thing. And I think Desrochers has done what she set out to do: writing an utterly compelling and unique read unlike anything else in the market today. I can't wait for the second book of the series!
