Not just any love. But insta-love. I know for many people, insta-love is the kiss of death. But how else can I describe the visceral feeling I get when reading those first few chapters. The butterflies in my stomach, the breathlessness of my lungs, the palpitations of my racing heart.  \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EReading the first chapters of November 9 was like falling in love for the very first time. It's not perfect and you don't know everything there is to know, but there's something so special and unique about the unknown, the mystery of it all, that begs you to find out: What if? \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAs the story progresses the whirlwind fairytale gets tested and pushed to the limits. There are moments when the entire foundation could easily turn to quicksand, breaking apart everything that Ben and Fallon stand upon. These characters are flawed. Their pasts are flawed. That insta-love begins to transform into love for these characters for their triumphs over these obstacles and in spite of their flaws. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EFor the cynical, for the staunch realists, I will say, yes, you may have to suspend your disbelief in some aspects of this fictional novel, and if you can, I feel you will be handsomely rewarded. What I loved most was being swept into this story and carried on a roller coaster journey to a happily ever after. I was left with just one wish at the end: to experience one more November 9. And maybe even one more after that. Then I went back to read them aloud to myself so that I could savor them on my tongue. \u003C\/i\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Ci\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/i\u003E\u003Ci\u003E\u003Cb\u003EConfession\u003C\/b\u003E: I fell in love multiple times within this book and when I turned the last page, I didn't want to read anything else because I knew I wouldn't experience that same kind of love for a while. \u003C\/i\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EReading a Colleen Hoover novel has become a visceral experience for me. First, with \u003Ci\u003EMaybe Someday\u003C\/i\u003E where the music was woven into the fabric of the story, and now with \u003Ci\u003EConfess\u003C\/i\u003E, where the art is not only described, but can be seen and it can be felt. Artist Danny O'Connor captured the essence of Colleen's words and characters so beautifully, I find it necessary to tell you to go out and buy this book in paperback. Seeing them printed is truly worth the price.  \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAuburn and Owen's story, both individually and together, is beautiful. It's also heartbreaking, it's tumultuous, it's frustrating, and it rings true. Colleen is a master at taking very flawed characters that you might not really like, and show you why they are deserving of your love. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAll that being said, I have to admit, this was not my favorite of all of Colleen's novels. But, this is like comparing your pets (maybe even your children). I love them all, but some just strike a deeper chord with me. This novel did feel a bit short to me. I felt like there was so much more of their happily ever after that I wanted to see after enduring their hard fought battle for it. Ultimately though, this is just a longing of mine. The novel ended well and it left me with a perma-smile on my face. It also left me with no desire to pick up another book for a while so that I could just contemplate what I just experienced. But there's a very good reason for this. Jill Shalvis is one of the most consistently talented and delightful writers I have EVER had the pleasure of reading. She creates stories full of joy, humor, and oh, so much heart. \u003Ci\u003EHe's So Fine\u003C\/i\u003E, the second to last Lucky Harbor full length novel, is no exception to the rule.  \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EJust acknowledging that the end is near is painful to me. I won't ever say goodbye to Lucky Harbor or its residents. Knowing that this is near end, I had very high expectations going into this novel, as was not disappointed. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EOlivia Bentley was the child star everyone loved, until they didn't. Thrown aside by those closest to her, when she needed help the most, Olivia is very much used to being disposable. She's the one who has never been put first. An escape to Lucky Harbor gives her the opportunity to start over without the clouds of her past looming overhead.  \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EWhen she meets Cole Donovan, a man who is tormented by a past shattered by lies, a man who rigidly values honesty above all else, her world gets turned upside down. And as their casual relationship starts turning into more, the storm of her withheld past comes rolling in. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThis book starts with a phenomenal meet-cute where we are hit with Olivia and Cole's off the charts chemistry. That chemistry carries us through the novel while being layered in with genuinely lovable characters and some heart-tugging moments. Rachel Harris has not only done these genres right, but she also wrote them in such a unique and utterly charming way that I am declaring this my favorite of her books to date. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003ESome may argue that the female transformation story sends a bad message. If you feel this way upon reading this book, I suggest you look a little closer. What you will see, upon that inspection is the story of Aly, a young girl who wants to see how the popular, carefree girl lives. What she discovers is a case of the grass always being greener, the discovery of some truths about herself, and the comfort in finding a middle ground. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThis is a young adult romance, and yes, Brandon is absolutely swoon worthy. In fact, he is swoon worthy enough to make any creepy feelings this 30 year old reviewer has melt away into the oblivion as a non-issue. Equally wonderful are her perfectly imperfect female characters who span a wide range within the personality spectrum but who all show an admirable strength of character and relatability. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EBecca Thorpe has found her way to Lucky Harbor as a means to escape her family, the embarrassments of her past, and just to start over. Her temporary stop on the road to redefining herself leads her to a run down warehouse with eight legged friends, thin as paper walls, and that happens to overlook the charter company run by three glorious specimens of men.  \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EOne particular specimen in the form of quietly stoic and brooding Sam Brody catches her eye. Growing up in a world where the word \"love\" was thrown around without care, Sam is fine with keeping his distance and concentrating on his business and his boats. He was the cocky yet protective guy with the perpetual smile on his face. He was the good time guy, and I couldn't wait to meet the woman who would finally bring him down. Who knew he would meet this woman on a drunken disaster of a night in Cancun!\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EEnter Reese. She's the girl with a wild side and a, fortunately, sealed Juvie record. When her husband of less than a year cheats on her with his ex, divorces her, then marries said ex, Reese gets a little creative with a lot of red paint and the ex's belongings. With no where to turn, she calls her Mother's lawyer ex-husband to help bail her out. What he gives her at the same time as her freedom, is the chance to start over as a paralegal at his law firm. Little does she know, Ben passed the bar and he's starting at the same firm.\u0026nbsp; \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe banter, sexual tension and pure vivacity of these characters is off the charts. I will admit I had very very high expectations of this book. This is the last of one of my favorite series ever. And once again, K.A. Tucker did not disappoint. All of the characters, from the main couple, to the friends, to the people you love to hate, all jump off the page to make you laugh, feel, and LOVE.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EThe story was a bit atypical in regards to the a rather common arc. There wasn't a big overblown\/overdone climax of the \"they can't be together any more until that big aha moment\" variety. No, the story is about much more than that. It is about love and family and what it means to be there for someone else. That is not to say that there aren't very big moments in the novel, it's just that the story is so well rounded that it's not just about the couple's togetherness status. And that is an entirely refreshing change.  \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EDon't worry if you haven't read the whole series, because each installment can very much be read as a standalone, but trust me...you won't want to stop with just one. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Ci\u003EFive Ways to Fall \u003C\/i\u003Ewas the deliciously sweet, refreshingly earnest, and satisfying conclusion to this amazing series. I'll be happily reaching for additional helpings again and again without tiring of it.
