*BLOG TOUR* Courtney Cole's BEFORE WE FALL: 10 Things About Dominic Kinkaide + Review + Giveaway

Welcome to my blog tour stop for the fabulous Courtney Cole's latest novel, BEFORE WE FALL!
I have Courtney at the blog today to tell you 10 Things you MUST know about Dominic Kinkaide (plus 5 more because she's just awesome like that...)

Then, stay tuned for my review and a giveaway!!
Before We Fall by Courtney Cole
Publication Date: December 3rd, 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary
Synopsis:
Sometimes, one dark moment is all it takes to turn your world black...

For 24-year old Dominic Kinkaide, that moment took place on the night of his high school graduation. One dark incident changed him forever. He's a hardened actor now, famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured in his own. He doesn't care about much of anything, except for losing himself in the roles that he plays.

23-year old Jacey Vincent doesn't realize how much her father's indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn't one specific moment that wrecks a person, but rather it's an absence of moments. She's like a bird with a broken wing-strong yet fragile, as she tries to float through life, finding acceptance in the arms of random guys, one after the other... to fill the void that her father left in her.

Until she meets Dominic.

After jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, his secret and her issues create a dark and damaged energy that will soon turn their attraction to each other into an explosive storm.

Even though when the clouds have cleared and the dust has settled, both of them are almost obliterated... they've learned a priceless lesson.

Sometimes, before we fall... we fly.

Ten Things You Need to Know about Dominic Kinkaide

By Courtney Cole

1. Dominic does bad, bad things.

2. He always knows what he wants.

3. He always does what he wants.

Those are the most important first three things. After that, you should know:

4. Deep down, Dominic has a good heart.

5. He hides that fact from everyone, including himself.

6. He’s palpably sexy.

7. If you give him the chance, he will annihilate you.

8. He’s an actor… and he’s best at acting normal.

9. He really wants to be normal… he just doesn’t know it.

10. His entire life will change when he meets Jacey Vincent.

And here are five bonus things:

1. Dominic’s eyes are green.

2. He’s right handed.

3. His favorite band is his brother’s… The Devil’s Own—although he would never admit that to his brother.

4. He grew up in a suburb of Chicago in a house that looks like a replica Scottish castle.

5. He’s been in love twice in his life.

And now for my review:
*Spoiler-Free* REVIEW: Before We Fall by Courtney Cole
Publication Date: December 3rd, 2013

*DISCLOSURE: ARC was provided in exchange for a fair and honest review

Review:

Holy hell. The best word to describe Courtney Cole's third installment of the Beautifully Broken Series, Before We Fall, is INTENSE. This book was gripping, steamy, pretty darn kinky and naughty....yet at the same time, it was tortured, haunting, and redemptive. It's a story of how loss can completely ravage and rend apart a life, and how love, patience, and hope can potentially offer the healing second chance.

Dominic Kinkaide is an arrogant movie star slash asshole who toes the very fine line between swoony bad boy and insufferable jerk. Jacey is a naive young woman who has made many bad choices and in Dominic, may or may not have made yet another to add to her list. What I truly enjoy about Courtney Cole's writing is that she has the unerring ability to weave stories about these characters that are conflicted and at times unlikable, very much like humans in real life, yet as she unravels her tale, she makes you empathize and understand them. While you might not agree with the characters and their choices, you end up rooting for them, nonetheless.

While I must admit, this wasn't my favorite novel of the series. (It's hard to beat the connection and love that I felt with Gabe and Madison of If You Leave!!) But it was still an emotional and touching novel that is worth a read.

P.S. This book can be read as a standalone, but features characters from the previous book (like BRAND! I NEED HIS STORY!!)

About the Author:

Courtney Cole is a novelist who would eat mythology for breakfast if she could. She has a degree in Business, but has since discovered that corporate America is not nearly as fun to live in as fictional worlds. She loves chocolate and roller coasters and hates waiting and rude people.

Courtney lives in quiet suburbia, close to Lake Michigan, with her real-life Prince Charming, her ornery kids (there is a small chance that they get their orneriness from their mother) and a small domestic zoo.

*BLOG TOUR* Katie McGarry's CRASH INTO YOU Review + GIVEAWAY

Crash into You (Pushing the Limits #3) by Katie McGarry
Publication Date: November 26th, 2013
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance
Synopsis:
From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane.

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

My review:
I have to admit, after reading about Noah and Echo, Beth and Ryan, I sincerely doubted that Isaiah's story could come anywhere close to the level of adoration I had for those stories. Never have I been more happy to be proven absolutely wrong.

Isaiah and Rachel's story was exhilarating and so different from the other books of the series. An action packed world of street racing coupled with some off the charts chemistry kept me glued at every turn. The interactions between Isaiah and not only Rachel but all the other players in this novel showed me all the depths of his character and of his heart that I was only able to glimpse in prior novels. Isaiah is now my favorite character of this entire series. He has so much strength and depth and, yes, flaws, but he just seems so overwhelmingly real that I feel (and wish) that he could just step right off the page.

That being said...I liked Rachel as a match for him, but I didn't love her as much as I loved Isaiah. I found it hard to sympathize with her at the beginning, but she definitely grew on me as the novel progressed.

Crash Into You is a series novel that can be read on its own. Isaiah captures your heart on each and every page with kindness and palpable sexiness with every beat. Katie McGarry has given us another fabulously written and wonderfully entertaining novel.

Writing has given Katie an excuse to pursue her passions. Research for her books has provided her with the amazing opportunity to train with baseball players, ride along in a drag car at ninety-six miles per hour and experience boxing and mixed martial arts. Katie loves to visit schools and talk to teenagers about her research, writing and the truth that no dream is out of reach.
