*Sentinel Blog Tour* Jennifer L. Armentrout's ELIXIR - Review + Interview + TWO GIVEAWAYS!

I can't believe that the day is almost here...it's the day that I've been both anxiously anticipating and dreading. That's right. It's just 3 more days until Sentinel, the final installment of the Covenant series, is released.

By far, one of my absolute favorite installments of the series thus far has been Elixir....

Check out my mini interview, my review, and not one, but TWO giveaways!

Elixir by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publication Date: November 27th, 2012
Synopsis:
Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.

Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.

Even if it means making war against the gods.

* * * * * * * Mini Interview * * * * * *

For JLA – After writing the series from Alex’s POV, what challenges did you face writing from Aiden’s POV in Elixir? It was hard to get into Aiden’s head because he was more of a challenge to write than I anticipated.

For Alex – Um…seriously girl, if I ever hear “My Seth” again, I may puke. Is there anything about that time that you want to remember? No. Well, except Aiden because he believed in me.

For Aiden – Where does your strength come from? Standing up to Alex and even the Gods, you were a rock during Elixir. How did you do it? It was all for Alex. I love her and I wasn’t giving up.

For Seth – During the time where you didn’t know where Alex was, what were you doing to find her? Everything. I was gonna find her.

And now....my review!
My review:
Eighty Pages. In only eighty pages, Jennifer L. Armentrout has achieved what many others, with two or three times the amount of space, have not. She has created a story bursting at the seams with tension, excitement, passion, a full range of emotion and an incredible showcase of excellent storytelling. This is the next part of the saga told from Aiden St. Delphi's point of view...a perspective we have yet to experience. He is one of the most spectacular of all book boyfriends, and it is in this installment that he is able to shine brighter than ever before. The turmoil that he experiences, the decisions he makes, all of the thoughts and emotions that he portrays left me a nail biting, heart palpitating mess. And I have never been more excited to discover what happens next. This novella, was quite simply, a no-holds-barred game changer.

*Release Day* Karen Erickson's Game for Trouble - Excerpt + GIVEAWAY!

HAPPY RELEASE DAY to the wonderful and fabulous Karen Erickson! If you're a fan of Monica Murphy, why not check out her alter ego's adult line of books!

Without any further ado, here it is:

Game for Trouble (Game For It Series #2) by Karen Erickson
Publication Date: October 28th, 2013
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance

He’ll play dirty to get what he wants… Willow Cavanaugh would be happy if she never saw cocky football star Nick Hamilton again. Sure, their fling was the hottest she’d had, but he’s way too much of a playboy to settle down with one woman. Plus, she’s got her heart set on a piece of real estate for her catering business—and Nick owns that property.

Nick may be at the top of his game, but all he wants is a second chance with Willow. When he offers to sell her his commercial space if she agrees to a series of dates with him, their chemistry is so scintillating that jumping back into bed seems like an inevitability. But Willow’s decided all’s fair in sex and blackmail. Little does she know, Nick’s playing to win…and she’s the prize.

BUT WAIT! That's not all! Want to read an excerpt??

“Come in here.” She grabbed hold of his hand and yanked him inside, shutting the door behind her and twisting the lock into place. “Let’s stay in tonight. It’s cold out there.”

“But...wherever you wanna go, darlin’, I’m game. My treat. You could order fifty lobsters for dinner, and I won’t protest.”

She grimaced. “I hate lobster.”

“You do not,” he said, frowning. “You grew up here. You can pluck a lobster straight out of the ocean from your dad’s deck.”

“Just because I grew up here doesn’t mean I have to love seafood.” She scrunched her nose. How she hated explaining this. No one ever got it. “I’ve never been a big fan. Lobster’s sorta freaky. Crab is too much work, not enough reward. I don’t mind shrimp, though. You can just pop them in your mouth and eat them.”

“I’ll take you out for all you can eat shrimp, then. You can stuff your face until you wanna burst,” he suggested eagerly.

Laughing, she shook her head. “I don’t think so. I’d rather stay in tonight with you.” She sobered up quick. The more they stayed in the better. This so- called relationship needed to stay quiet. One mention of it to the media, local or bigger, and all hell was going to break loose. As in, her father would have an epic freak-out.

“We always do that, though. Stay in.” He scowled. “Aren’t you getting bored?”

Oh, no. “Are you?” God, he was already tired of her. Really, she shouldn’t care. She should be glad. The faster she got rid of him, the better.

Right?

“No. Hell, no. Anytime I’m with you is good, Will.”

He reached for her, settling those big hands on her hips. Dipping his head, he bent his knees a little so he could peer directly into her eyes. “Are you getting sick of me yet?”

She pressed her lips together to keep from saying what she really wanted. I could never get sick of you. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

“No. Well. Your constant sweet talk is getting sort of old.” She rolled her eyes, putting on an act. Nothing Nick did when they were together was getting old.

His mouth curved upward. “What are you talking about?”

“All the darlin’s and the sugars and the princess remarks. I think you say that sort of thing so you never have to worry about the name of the girl you’re with,” she teased.

His face turned frightfully solemn. “You really think that?”

Uh oh. She shrugged. “I’ve wondered.”

“Really.” His fingers bit into her flesh, he held her so tight.

“Maybe?” He had her doubting herself. How did he do that?

Dope. He constantly keeps you on edge.

“Trust me, I always know who I’m with when I’m with you.” He kissed her—the softest, sweetest kiss ever. So soft, so sweet, she immediately wanted to weep when he pulled away to murmur against her lips, “Willow.”

He never called her Willow. Ever.

Seven Day Fiancé by Rachel Harris

But when she ends up winning Cane at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.

Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. * * * * * * * EXCERPT* * * * * *

Shivering as cool November air kissed her exposed skin, Angelle Prejean quickened her pace across the Magnolia Springs Banquet Hall parking lot. The rhythmic click of her toe-pinching heels sounded amplified in the dark, but it did jack squat to drown out her mama’s voice still ringing in her ears. What Angelle needed was a distraction, and an event planned by her crazy roommate was sure to deliver. Digging through her beaded black handbag, Angie fished out her ticket and flashed it at the entrance, then stepped inside the toasty warm lobby with a hopeful smile. It promptly froze and withered on her face.

What the…?

Looming directly across from her in the crowded vestibule stood an almost life-size poster of three faceless, shirtless men. The words FOR YOUR HOLIDAY PLEASURE were written in elegant swirling letters along the bottom.

For her stupefaction was more like it.

Angie glanced at her ticket, confirming she had the date and location right, and promptly returned her gaze to the glorious sight before her. Her breath escaped in a rush. Heat crept up her neck. But a herd of wild horses couldn’t tear her gaze away. And from the excited whirr of murmurs and giggles filling the entryway, she wasn’t the only one enjoying the man-tastic view.Together, the half-nude beefcake trio in the poster was devastating, each man impossibly gorgeous. But for Angelle it was one man in particular, the one in the center, who had butterflies doing the cha-cha in her belly and her limbs gushing with warmth.

Cane.

It didn’t matter that the image stopped at his throat. She didn’t need to see his face to recognize the rugged bartender. The confidence in the man’s stance, the ink on his skin, and the way her entire body shook with desire and trepidation gave his identity away. Thanks to the class they took together at Northshore Combatives, Angie had seen Cane Robicheaux in various stages of undress. But despite the overwhelming temptation, she’d never allowed herself the luxury of a thorough examination. In fact, she did everything she could to avoid eye contact of any kind—not an easy feat in a town as small as Magnolia Springs. Or with an attraction as fierce as hers. But now, alone with a bazillion other women doing the same, Angie let her eyes drink their fill. Her gaze caressed the width of his broad shoulders. Traced the lines of his flat, rippled abdomen. And feasted on the artwork adorning his skin. A koi fish swam up one side of his smooth ribs, flames licked up a thick, muscular arm, and a cross with angel wings and his mom’s name peeked from inside the other. An intricate yin-yang of a tiger and dragon covered the left side of his bulging chest, and she knew from prior, covert inspection that a fleur de lis marked his toned calf. The sound of her erratic pulse eclipsed all other sound in the room, but if Angelle were a betting woman, she’d put even money that a hum of feminine swooning was breaking around her. Cane Robicheaux exuded sex—sex and danger. And in spite of her many, many, many attempts to pretend otherwise, she was every bit as susceptible to that potent combination as the rest of the female population.

“Which is why I’m in so much trouble,” she whispered with a disgusted snort.

And now....my review!
My review:
With Seven Day Fiancé, Rachel Harris pushes the limits of the Bliss line to create a deliciously sweet and spicy novel filled with lovable characters, a fun exploration into Cajun country, and some seriously sexy scenes.

Though the basic storyline is a common trope: fake fiancees start to develop feeling for each other, face obstacles in their way, hopefully end up together (assuming its a romance novel, of COURSE they end up together!), Rachel Harris has crafted a story that is infused with heart, a setting that is a character in and of itself, and people that you can't help but root for, therefore setting Seven Day Fiancé apart from the pack.

Seven Day Fiancé is a sweet and sexy read that simply flies by. But don't think that it is all fluff. There is character growth and a fun and engaging story from start to finish. Rachel Harris has a fantastic writing style and this series has left me hungry for more.

About the Author:
Rachel Harris grew up in New Orleans, where she watched soap operas with her grandmother and stayed up late sneak reading her mama’s favorite romance novels. Now a Cajun cowgirl living in Houston, she still stays up way too late reading her favorite romances, only now, she can do so openly. She firmly believes life’s problems can be solved with a hot, powdered-sugar-coated beignet or a thick slice of king cake, and that screaming at strangers for cheap, plastic beads is acceptable behavior in certain situations.

When not typing furiously or flipping pages in an enthralling romance, she homeschools her two beautiful girls and watches reality television with her amazing husband. Taste The Heat is her adult romance debut. She’s the author of MY SUPER SWEET SIXTEENTH CENTURY and A TALE OF TWO CENTURIES. She loves hearing from readers!
