*Cover Reveal* L.M. Augustine's Two Roads+ GIVEAWAY

Love love love this cover!! Check out this beautiful cover designed by E.M. Tippetts Book Designs!!

Two Roads by L.M. Augustine
Genre: New Adult Romance
Publication Date: August 26th, 2013

The only person poetry-loving Cali Monroe hates more than herself is Logan Waters, the geeky kid who lives in the dorm building next to hers.

Ever since Cali's parents told her she would amount to nothing, she has felt entirely inadequate. Friendless and alone, she takes on the mean girl role in hopes it will make her feel better--and Logan serves as the perfect target. He infuriates her with his obnoxiously long lashes, his all too perfect dimpled smile, and his complete lack of personality outside of his intelligence. It doesn't hurt that he's part of the reason her brother is dead, either. So Cali hates him, and he returns the favor. Thus, their prank-filled, insult-driven rivalry is born, and torturing Logan quickly becomes the highlight of her life.

But when Cali's parents set them up on a blind date, she begins to realize Logan might not be as boring as she always thought. He shares her love of poetry, takes a sadistic pleasure in making fun of crepes, and he makes her blush when he calls her smile pretty.

And hey, maybe those long lashes of his aren't that obnoxious after all…

Two Roads is New Adult Romance about finding love, standing out, and learning to embrace who you are. It contains some language and mild sexual content.

In memory...

I don't usually get too personal on this blog....but I just wanted to take a moment...

This past weekend, I lost my grandfather to a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was a man who came to this country to forge a better life for his family. He worked 3 jobs every day, without complaint, to make ends meet and to put food on the table for his wife and children. He had a great love of people, of nature, and of the world in general. From my grandfather, I learned a love for the written word, the importance of kindness, and the meaning of honor.

I live every day trying to be a good person and to make him and his memory proud.

Grandpa, you are missed, but I will carry you in my heart always.

Love,
Christine

please excuse my sporadic absences for the next week or so....

*Cover Reveal + Excerpt + GIVEAWAY* Lauren Blakely's Playing with Her Heart

If you've been around at here at all, or on any of my social media for that matter...you'll know that I'm pretty ecstatically fond of Lauren Blakely. That woman NEVER fails to bring on the heat, the steamy, the endless parade of ab-tastic hotties.....

Well, I'm happy to say that she once again hit it out of the park. With a perfect match in the fabulous Sarah Hansen from Okay Creations comes this absolutely drool worthy cover.

Without any further ado, here it is:

Playing With Her Heart (Caught Up In Us #3) by Lauren Blakely
Publication Date: August 20th, 2013

When you’re acting the role of a lifetime, how can you know if love is real—or all just a part of the show?

Twenty-three year old rising theatre star Jill McCormick has built a life out of pretending. Pretending she’s happy, pretending her long-distance crushes add up to something real, pretending she’s not haunted by the dark secret that shattered her world six years ago. Cast in her first Broadway show, she desperately needs to keep her façade intact, but that’s before she comes face to face with her devastating new boss…

Hot-shot director Davis Milo knows the first rule of directing: never fall for your leading lady. Captivated by Jill’s raw talent, he fights his feelings, but watching Jill on-stage with another man is more than his jealous streak can take. Keeping things professional isn’t an option. He wants all of her.

Soon the ingénue and her director are staying late in the empty theatre, their private rehearsals spiraling into new, forbidden territory. Caught up between fiction and reality, Jill struggles to find the truth in all their staged kisses. But how can she be sure that what she feels is real, and not a part of the play? And when two people spend their lives pretending, what happens after the final curtain falls?

BUT WAIT! That's not all!
And now, an excerpt!!

He glances down at the black pumps. “Nice shoes.”

As I follow his eyes, I realize my hand is on his shirt, my fingersfisted around the cloth, clutching it. I should let go. But I don’t.Because I can’t help but notice he has that clean and freshly showeredsmell that makes any woman want to lean in and lick a guy’s neck.

Close her eyes. Inhale, and trail a tongue all the way to hisearlobe, enjoying the sound of a low groan.

“Nice shirt,” I say softly, running my index finger across one smoothbutton. Then I look up to find him staring down at me. His dark blueeyes aren’t cold anymore. They’re not keeping me at bay. Instead, they’re heated, searching mine.

It’s hypnotic the way he looks at me. Completely hypnotic, as theroom goes quiet, the air between us charged.

I press my teeth against my lips, and I think, but I’m not entirelysure, because thought has vanished, that I nod briefly, almost as ifI’m giving him permission. Then he bends towards me, and my breathcatches. Before I even process rationally what’s happening, his lipsare on mine, and my pulse is racing. It’s a barely there kiss, justhim brushing his soft lips against mine, but I want more. So I pullhim closer and deepen the kiss. He groans, and then suddenly his handsare in my hair, and he’s twining his fingers through my long, blondstrands, and tugging me close. I thought I was leading this kiss, butI’m not anymore, because he’s claiming me, tracing his tongue acrossmy top lip, then nipping at the bottom lip, then kissing me so deeplyand with so much heat that I shudder. That only makes him kiss meharder, and everything else falls away because this is a kiss I canfeel in every single cell in my body. Deep, and fevered andpossessive.

It makes me feel things I’m not supposed to want.

My heart pounds wildly as he presses closer, so dangerously near tome that I want him to slam me against him. Let him touch me all over. His lips own me, his hands want to know me, and I swear I mightcombust from this kind of electric contact.

He breaks the kiss and I’m not honestly sure where I am anymore. Orwho I am. I look at him, at Davis, but everything is so hazy rightnow, that I don’t know what to say. I don’t think he does either, because he doesn’t speak for a moment. He shakes his head, andswallows, collecting himself. As if he doesn’t know how that happenedeither.

“I’m sorry,” he says, then steps back, pushing his hand roughlythrough his hair. He looks away from me, staring at some distant pointon the wall. “That was a mistake,” he says quietly.

*REVIEW + guest post + GIVEAWAY!* C.J. Duggan's An Endless Summer & The Boys of Summer

Welcome to my stop on the An Endless Summer blog tour hosted by YA Bound Book Tours.  Click  HERE to see the full blog tour schedule!

Today I'm have the absolute pleasure of reviewing C.J. Duggan's The Boys of Summer and its newly released sequel An Endless Summer! PLUS, I have a wonderful guest post for C.J. featuring her playlist AND a phenomenal GIVEAWAY! So, let's get to it, shall we?

*Spoiler-Free* REVIEW: The Boys of Summer (Summer #1) by C.J. Duggan
Published On: December 17th, 2012

*DISCLOSURE: ARC was provided in exchange for a fair and honest review

The Boys of Summer (Summer #1)
by C.J. Duggan
Publication Date: December 17th, 2012

Synopsis:
It seemed only natural to nickname them the ‘Onslow Boys’. Every time they swaggered in the front door of the Onslow Hotel after a hard week’s work, their laughter was loud and genuine as they settled onto their bar stools. I peeked through the restaurant partition, a flimsy divider between my world and theirs. I couldn’t help but smile whenever I saw them, saw him ... Toby Morrison.

Quiet seventeen-year-old Tess doesn’t relish the thought of a summertime job. She wants nothing more than to forget the past haunts of high school and have fun with her best friends before the dreaded Year Twelve begins.

To Tess, summer is when everything happens: riding bikes down to the lake, watching the fireworks at the Onslow Show and water bomb fights at the sweltering Sunday markets.

How did she let her friends talk her into working?

After first-shift disasters, rude, wealthy tourists and a taunting ex-boyfriend, Tess is convinced nothing good can come of working her summer away. However, Tess finds unlikely allies in a group of locals dubbed ‘The Onslow Boys’, who are old enough to drive cars, drink beer and not worry about curfews. Tess’s summer of working expands her world with a series of first times with new friends, forbidden love and heartbreaking chaos.

All with the one boy she has never been able to forget.

It will be a summer she will always remember.

The Verdict:

A perfect Australian summer romance full of fun, friendship, laughter, and love. C.J. Duggan sucked me into a fast paced novel that, even if it didn’t have a plot line (but it does), could stand easily by her immensely lovable characters alone.

I honestly couldn’t put this book down, not because the plot was so action packed, but because I truly grew to care for these characters, Tess and Toby, The Onslow Boys and, Tess’s best friends, Ellie and Adam. I just needed to know what happened next for them. One small hesitation I had was the almost 5 year age difference between Tess (~17) and Toby (~22), however, in the end....the love that I had for Toby and for how their relationship grew, I managed to overlook this. Toby and Tess are strong, kind, and intersting characters on their own, but truly blossom in their scenes together.

If you want a fun, whirlwind summertime romance, full of dreamy guys and good times, be sure to pick up this book to start out Duggan’s excellent series.

*Spoiler-Free* REVIEW: An Endless Summer (Summer #2) by C.J. Duggan
Published On: July 15th, 2013

*DISCLOSURE: ARC was provided in exchange for a fair and honest review

An Endless Summer (Summer #2)
by C.J. Duggan
Publication Date: July 15th, 2013

Synopsis:
Sean looked out over the lake, squinting against the sunlight. He turned to me, his expression sobering as his eyes flicked over my face in a silent study.

“Come on Amy, I saved you once, I’ll save you again.”

I met his stare unflinchingly. “I don’t need saving.”

A wicked grin formed slowly. “Don’t you?”

After a rebellious summer night that almost claimed her life, Amy Henderson – the Onslow publican’s only daughter – is sent away to suffer a fate far worse than any other punishment:

Boarding School.

Three years on, a now nineteen-year-old Amy returns to Onslow for the summer. What once was a cauldron of activity with live bands, hot meals and cold beers, the Onslow Hotel now lies dark, deserted and depressing. All fond childhood memories of loitering on the hotel stairs and eavesdropping on customers’ colourful conversations are in the distant past.

How had her dad let it come to this?

With the new threat of putting the Onslow up for sale, Amy reluctantly turns to a local tradesman for help: Sean Murphy, the very same Onslow boy who saved her life all those years ago. With his help and that of some old friends, the task is clear: spend the summer building the hotel back up to its former glory or lose it for good.

In an endless summer, Amy soon realises that sometimes in order to save your future, you have to face your past, even if it’s in the form of a smug, gorgeous Onslow boy.

The Verdict:

Picking up several years after the end of The Boys of Summer, we get to go back to the Onslow Hotel and get to catch up with all of the beloved characters of the first book. I am so glad that The Endless Summer picked up with Sean’s story. The cocky, self-assured, sweet-hearted guy has grown up, though he still has the same endearing personality traits. Know who else has grown up? Amy Henderson. Now, again...HUGE age difference here, but the chemistry between them and my endless love for Sean was just enough for me to disregard this.

Amy is still young, but she’s strong willed, quick witted, feisty, and more admirable than others her age. She’s determined to save the place of her childhood and you can’t help but to like her for it.

And the sexual tension...oh the tension:

“Is that right?” He stepped closer, forcing me to lift my head to meet his eyes. He was so close we were almost touching, but I refused to be distracted. Not by the heat that emanated off his body, or the smell of his sharp, musty aftershave, or the feel of his breath. I refused to be sidetracked by the vivid blue of his eyes.

By anything.

The Endless Summer was a fun, warm-hearted novel that returned and brought new life to the little town and cast of characters that The Boys of Summer so lovingly portrayed. While I *did* love my first introduction to this series a bit more, C.J. Duggan did not disappoint with her sequel. I can’t wait to see what she has for us next.

A blogger-versary, a New Adult Extravaganza, and a heartfelt note...

Hello my lovelies,
As you may, or may not have noticed, I haven't been around as much lately. This is not one of those, I'm quitting blogging/tweeting/facebooking posts, but it's just a "Hey, FYI...." kind of notes.

I'm dealing with some family illness issues at the moment, and actually have been, increasingly, during the past month. So until things stabilize, you won't be seeing as many blog features, reviews, and tours as before. I'll still be doing them...but just in limited quantity for the time being.

Now that that's out of the way....I *HAVE* been working on something pretty big for the blog, and since this past weekend celebrated my SIX MONTH BLOGGER-VERSARY, I figured I would let you in on the secret...

You know how I was a New Adult Crush Tourney advocate for Trent (K.A. Tucker's Ten Tiny Breaths)? Well, I loved the experience *SO* much, that I wanted to extend that good feeling a little bit longer. The lovely ladies and gentleman at NA Alley (http://www.naalley.com/) put on such a wonderful event (that's still going! Be sure to vote in the last two rounds!). It brought readers together and helped to introduce these books to people who many not have heard of them or had not yet been convinced to give this new genre a try.

SO, I decided it host a HUGE New Adult promotion and giveaway on the blog! ALL, each and every one, of the authors nominated into the NA Crush Tourney have donated items for you lucky readers!

But, I didn't limit it there. I'm also pulling together more items for the NA authors who I LOVE and who I'm sure will be around and present in NEXT year's tourney!

So there you have it....I'm getting in new and exciting items every day.....Stay tuned for August and be sure to subscribe or follow me however you choose to be sure that you don't miss out! For those of you who have stuck with me, befriended me, listened to me ramble nonsensically, inspired me with your words and your eloquence, I thank you sincerely, and from the bottom of my heart. This book loving community has welcomed me and made me feel a part of it when I especially needed it most.

*Blog Tour* Lyla Payne's By Referral Only - Review + 10 Secrets about COLE! + a GIVEAWAY!

Hi readers! I have SO SO much to share with you today! a Review of the incredibly awesome By Referral Only, PLUS Ruby's 10 things that you don't know about Cole!! AND THEN an incredibly awesome GIVEAWAY! *Phew* so let's get right to it, shall we?

*Spoiler-Free* REVIEW: By Referral Only by Lyla Payne
Published On: July 2nd, 2013

*DISCLOSURE: ARC was provided in exchange for a fair and honest review

By Referral Only by Lyla Payne
Publication Date: July 2nd, 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary
Synopsis:
After being unceremoniously dumped freshman year because of her family’s “new money” status, Ruby Cotton has taken care not to put her heart on the line. No matter how enticing Emilie and Quinn make it look, relationships are scary and hard—while a string of flings is easy and fun. That’s what Ruby wants. Easy and fun. The only problem is, when it comes to satisfaction in the sack, most of the boys at Whitman are nothing but pretty window dressing and false advertising.

Ruby takes it upon herself to make campus life more fulfilling, creating a referral database that allows female students to rate their sexual experiences, thereby informing girls of what they’re getting into before agreeing to a date.

When her acting partner, Liam Greene, finally shows some interest, Ruby figures she won’t need to utilize the helpful gossip. He’s handsome, fun, and most importantly, not a guy she’d ever fall for hard enough to let him break her heart.

Not only that, but dating Liam gives Ruby the perfect excuse to say no to Cole Stuart.

As a star swimmer and heir to honest-to-God Scottish royalty, Cole sits at the top of Whitman’s A-list—but he’s also the lowest rated referral on Ruby’s website. The ratings make rejecting his repeated requests for a date a no-brainer, but her real reason for avoiding Cole runs deeper than a string of unsatisfied exes.

He’s gorgeous, he oozes sweetness and charm, and the electricity between them could power half of Whitman, but Ruby knows it will only last until his family or friends convince him she’s not good enough.

Before she knows it she’s falling anyway, waiting for the other shoe to drop but clinging to a tentative hope that Cole might be as different as he seems. When the secret behind his low ratings comes to light, that hope is torn apart, and Ruby wonders if she was right to give him her heart…and whether she has the strength to let him keep it.

My Thoughts:

Though this is the second book in the Whitman University series, it was my first introduction to Lyla Payne’s work, and I assure you, the buck does not stop here. Lyla, Lyla! take my money and give me all your other books from here on out! *ahem* So, with that being said, jumping right in did not affect my enjoyment of the book in any way shape or form.

After her boyfriend unceremoniously dumps her, Ruby Cotton’s chip on her shoulder as a member of a “new money” family in a society full of “old money” socialites cuts deeper. As she faces the prejudice of those who have been wealthy all their lives, she plays into the role that she feels she is perceived in....going back to her roots of growing up poor and uncultured. She acts the part of the person she feels she is...not good enough for the likes of her peers. She decides to only seek out easy and fun, never getting close enough to be hurt by a guy’s eventual dismissal of her.

After her sorority sister comes home from a particularly horrendous date, Ruby comes up with the idea of a referral system, a way to discover whether or not a guy is a dud before the first date.

Then she meets Cole Stuart, Scottish, so hot you have to catch the drool with a bib, star swimmer, and holder of the lowest rating on her referral site. Their chemistry lights her on fire, but should she abide by her referral system or find out personally if their fire will burn hotter or fizzle out.

Now, I have to admit, I didn’t easily relate to the class system battle that Ruby faced, nor did I agree with her decisions regarding the referral system. But her tenaciousness, despite of her vulnerabilities, won me over. She makes some bad choices, but she grows and learns by the end. And that is a pleasure to experience.

Then there’s Cole. Cole is pretty damn perfect to me. Of course he’s sexy, just the right amount of bossy, with a dash of sweetness....but what I really loved most of all, is his caring personality. He treats Ruby with a respect and care that I think makes a guy a real man. It is through his interactions with Ruby that we get to peel back the layers of both characters and get to know and love them. It's not an easy road for them, even though their chemistry is truly effortless. There are real insecurities and flaws in play here, and this dash of reality, though frustrating at times, makes me love Ruby and Cole even more.
Yes. I want you, and not just in the bedroom, but anywhere you’ll have me. Let’s do this. Let’s try. I’ll be brave and try to believe you won’t break it off the first time someone makes a comment about my not being good enough for you.

That’s what I should have said. But the moment went on too long, and the words didn’t emerge, and eventually, Cole got up and left.

“I never wanted anything but for you to realize how amazing you are.” He kissed me gently on the lips. “And to deserve you.”

The Final Verdict:

By Referral Only, at face value, might seem to be a rather silly idea: A referral site to recommend (or not) college guys based on their skills in bed. Look beyond that and just start reading and you will find a thoroughly enchanting novel full of quick-witted humor, scorching passion, and heartwarmingly tender moments. It is a journey of discovery of self worth that makes you stand up and cheer for the happily ever after that Lyla Payne so beautifully provides.

Rating:

About the Author:
I’ve long had a love of stories. A few years ago decided to put them down on the page, and even though I have a degree in film and television, novels were the creative outlet where I found a home. I’ve published Young Adult under a different name, but when I got the idea for Broken at Love (my first New Adult title), I couldn’t wait to try something new – and I’m hooked. In my spare time I watch a ton of tennis (no surprise, there), play a ton of tennis, and dedicate a good portion of brain power to dreaming up the next fictitious bad boy we’d all love to meet in real life.

And now, I have something special for you! Listing 10 things about Cole was really hard for Ruby, because most of the things all of you would find interesting, she prefers to keep for herself, BUT I managed to wrangle some out of her. Here we go!

1. He snuggles in his sleep—and yes, the boy despises pajamas, ladies.

2. Cole thinks I don’t notice, but he sneaks in to my rehearsals at least once a week and watches from the back row.

3. One of the most unintentionally sexy things he does is walk around the house barefoot. I just got shivers thinking about it.

4. He remembers birthdays after you tell him the date once.

5. Cole has a wicked sense of humor. I let it slip that Emilie had to go off the pill for two months because of a health thing, and he shipped Quinn the biggest box of condoms I’ve ever seen as a joke.

6. Ever since we got over that first secret, we haven’t had another. Cole hates them—he can’t even surprise me because he says it feels like lying to my face.

7. He has four kilts, and a dress kilt that he keeps at home in Elgin, but he brought one back to school JUST FOR ME.

8. I guess it’s because he’s from Scotland, but Cole loves having sex when it’s cold. We’re planning a ski trip this year, and he has big ideas that include snow and open windows and…I’ll admit, I’m pretty intrigued. He’s already shown me how much fun ice cubes can be. Also ice cream. Okay, I’ll stop.

9. It’s killing him that he doesn’t have a dog. His family has a bunch, and he’s never been so long without a pet, but we’re gone too much to take care of one. Instead, he brought home the ugliest, scraggliest kitten a few days ago and named it Pearl. He adores her. I’m jealous.

10. He totally thickens his accent when he’s trying to coax me into something, because he thinks it’s irresistible. And it kind of is.
