*Author Interview* with Courtney Cole + a Giveaway!

Today, I have the pleasure of welcoming Courtney Cole to the blog. In case you've been incredibly unfortunate and haven't heard of her book, If You Stay, let me give you a quick run down:

If You Stay by Courtney Cole
Publication Date: February 5th, 2013
Genre: New Adult
24-year old Pax Tate is an asshole.

Seriously.

He’s a tattooed, rock-hard bad-boy with a bad attitude to match.

But he’s got his reasons.

His mother died when Pax was seven, leaving a hole in his heart filled with guilt although he doesn’t understand why. What he does know is that he and his dad are left alone and with more issues than they can count.

As Pax grew up, he tried to be the kid his father always wanted; the perfect golden boy, but it didn’t work. His dad couldn’t overcome his grief long enough to notice and Pax couldn’t keep up the impossible perfect façade.

So he slipped far, far from it.

Now, he uses drugs and women to cope with the ugliness, the black void that he doesn’t want to deal with. If he pretends that the emptiness isn’t there, then it isn’t, right?

Wrong.

And it’s never more apparent than when he meets Mila.

Sweet, beautiful Mila Hill is the fresh air to his hardened frown, the beauty to his ugly heart. He doesn’t know how to not hurt her, but he quickly realizes that he’s got to figure it out because he needs her to breathe.

When memories of his mother’s death resurface from where he’s repressed them for so long, Mila is there to catch him when the guilt starts making sense. Mila is the one…the one who can save him from his broken troubled heart; from his issues, from the emptiness.

But only if he can stop being an asshole long enough to allow it.

He knows that. And he’s working on it.

But is that enough to make her stay?

**Warning -Contains sex and violence**

* * * * * * * * * * * * *

Since it’s release, If You Stay has spent three weeks atop the NYT Bestsellers list (topping at #5), five weeks on the USA Today Bestsellers (hitting #11), and a nice long stay at the top 100 at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

This is an immense achievement! Congrats, Courtney and thank you for joining me for my very first author interview!

Thank you so much!! And thank you for having me! ☺

I have to tell you, when I read the first chapter of If You Stay, I was pretty startled. Pardon my French, but Sh*t just got real. The love interests first touch lips in a scene involving CPR, vomit, and an overdose. Your book is real, unique, and pretty fearless, in my humble opinion. It’s a truly heart wrenching journey that Pax and Mila have to travel. Did you ever feel guilty or emotional about some of the things that you were making your characters go through?

Guilty? No. I wanted the book to be as real and authentic as possible… and so I had to have some ugly things happen. Emotional? Hell yeah. I can’t tell you how many times I cried, or how many times I was writing with a lump in my throat. I hated having to do some of those things. But I had to. I’ll tell you a secret- in the original ending, when Pax goes to Mila’s shop, she took him back right then. But I decided that in real life, she would be too hurt and scared to do that—so I had to make her reject him. And OMG that was hard.

Well, it certainly paid off. I definitely experienced all those same reactions as I was reading.

You’ve said that your real life inspiration for Pax was a loved one who used drugs as a coping mechanism but chose to get help. Did you ever tell this person that s/he inspired you? How did s/he feel about it and has s/he read the book? Regardless, I hope that this person is still doing well.

Yes. Pax’s personality is based on that of someone close to me who used drugs as a coping mechanism. He does know that I based Pax on him and he has read the book. He’s happy about the book—he feels that if anyone can draw hope through his story, then everything he went through was worth it. And while Pax’s story isn’t the same as his, the underlying theme is the same. Bad things can happen, but you can get through them. Reach down, grab your inner strength by the balls and just do it.

I love that the theme of hope and resilience plays such a prominent role in your novel without it being too overt or in your face.

The idea and saying “Love never fails” plays a large role in the novel. It’s beautiful in its simplicity. What is your favorite quote about love and why?

That is my favorite quote about love. And it’s my favorite because it holds a special place in my heart because I can still hear my grandma saying it to me, but also because it’s true. Real love never fails. It just doesn’t. It is strong enough to withstand anything.

Your grandma sounds like a very wise woman. =)

Anything that you can tell us about Madison’s story, If You Leave, the follow up to If You Stay? I’m assuming due to the sisterly bond, we’ll get to check in with Pax and Mila to see how marriage is treating them? (*crosses fingers*)

I can’t share any details with you right now because I’m still writing it—I don’t even know myself everything that is going to happen. But yes, you will see Pax and Mila. And I really hope that you enjoy Madison’s story. I think it’s pretty gripping, as well.

Now, I’d love to learn a little more about your writing in general:

You’ve written for many age groups (YA, NA, Adult). Obviously, you enjoy them all since you wrote the books, but do you have a favorite to write? How about to read?

I think I’m loving the New Adult thing. It really suits my voice and I love how I can write about young people with growing up issues, but I don’t have to worry about crossing that line of appropriateness the way I would have to with YA.

What’s your writing process like? Are you a planner or do you prefer to just have a general idea and see where your creativity takes you?

I’m pretty much a pantser. I start out with a clear picture of how I want the book to start and end, but the middle is a mystery to me usually. I tend to plot only one chapter at a time—I’ll plot it the night before and then right it the next day.

What went into your decision to Self-Publish If You Stay? It seems like such a scary prospect to me and I admire your bravery in doing so.

Well, I’m from a business background so the business side of the publishing world doesn’t intimidate me. And also, there is something about me that sometimes comes in handy and sometimes gets me into trouble… I never feel like I can’t do something. I always think I can do anything if I just put my mind to it. That’s gotten me into trouble before, but this particular time, it paid off. If You Stay came out just as I’d hoped it would.

Hey, as the saying goes…No risk, no reward! I know a lot of us readers are reaping the benefits of your “Can do” attitude!

Finally, as we wrap up, I’d love to discover a little more about you! Hope you’re game for a quick fire round!

Something interesting about yourself that’s not common knowledge?

I have to sleep with a fan on for static noise.

Bad Boys or the Sweet Guys?

Bad boys.

Favorite book growing up?

The Trixie Belden series

Last book you read and loved?

Um, since I am lucky enough to have my BFF Michelle Leighton as a crit partner, I recently read her next book in the Bad Boys series, Everything For Us. And it was amazing- and everyone will love it when it comes out.
(as an aside: UGH! JEALOUS!!....ok back to the interview)

Celebrity crush?

Alex Pettyfer . Incidentally, he’s who I see in my head when I picture Pax.

He is totally Pax. See exhibit A, folks:
or exhibits 1-6 (as in packs)

And lastly, if you could choose any book boyfriend, who would it be?

Ummmm. Crap. I think I would choose Gabriel McBain from Saving Grace by Julie Garwood. He was my first book boyfriend, many moons ago- and he’s who I stack all other alpha book males up against. ☺

This has been so much fun for me (and slightly nerve wracking as well!) I hope none of my questions were too painful!

Courtney, thanks so much for joining me today and for being a perfect first guest!

Thank you so much for having me!! This was fun!

After our interview, Courtney shared some incredible news: IF YOU STAY (and the two books following it in the Beautifully Broken series) have been picked up by Forever, which is an imprint of Grand Central Publishing (Hachette). Such incredible news for a very deserving book and author.

About the Author:

Courtney Cole is a novelist who would eat mythology for breakfast if she could. She has a degree in Business, but has since discovered that corporate America is not nearly as fun to live in as fictional worlds. She loves chocolate and roller coasters and hates waiting and rude people.

Courtney lives in quiet suburbia, close to Lake Michigan, with her real-life Prince Charming, her ornery kids (there is a small chance that they get their orneriness from their mother) and a small domestic zoo.

*Waiting on Wednesdays* Jill Shalvis's It Had to be You

*This meme is brought to you by Breaking the Spine*

I may have mentioned before that patience is not my strong suit. I am very much one to enjoy immediate gratification, HOWEVER some things are worth the wait (she says reluctantly...).

I have been a fan of Jill Shalvis for over a decade, ever since I was old enough to read adult novels (erm, probably even before that. Shh...don't tell my parents!) She is one of my automatic buy authors, regardless of what she has written, but I have to say, she stuck gold with her Lucky Harbor series. With this series, she exhibits the flawless ability to create a lovable cast of characters from the feisty, relatable heroine, the gloriously wonderful alpha male, to the quirky collection of townspeople, mix in her characteristic witty humor, and a whole lot of heart and there you have a Lucky Harbor novel. But though it seems like Shalvis exhibits a tried and true formula, it is anything but. Each book of the series has been incredibly unique, making me laugh and warming my heart. From what I hear, her next installment, will not break from tradition. (Also worth noting that though it is a series, each novel stands alone, but can also be read in multiple trilogies.)

It Had to Be You
by Jill Shalvis
Publication Date: May 28th, 2013

Synopsis:
Ali Winters is not having a good day. Her boyfriend left her, everyone in town thinks she’s a thief, and now she’s about to be kicked out of her home. Her only shot at keeping a roof over her head and clearing her name is to beg for help from a police detective who’s as sexy as he is stern….
After a high-profile case goes wrong, Luke Hanover returns to his hometown for some peace and quiet. Instead he finds a bombshell brunette in a heap of trouble. As he helps Ali put her world back together, the pieces of Luke’s own life finally seem to fall into place. Is this the start of a sizzling fling? Or are Luke and Ali on the brink of something big in a little town called Lucky Harbor?

Want more? OF COURSE YOU DO! Pretty Jilly posted some awesome excerpts:
Lieutenant Detective Luke Hanover had been away from the San Francisco Police Department for exactly one day of his three week leave and already he’d lost his edge, walking into his grandma’s Lucky Harbor beach house to find a B&E perp standing in the kitchen.
She sure as hell was the prettiest petty thief he’d ever come across, at least from the back since she was wearing nothing but a white lace bra and a tiny scrap of matching white lace panties. “You have some nerve you… you ratfink bastard,” she snapped into her cell phone, waving her free hand for emphasis, her long, wildly wavy brown hair flying around her head as she moved.
And that wasn’t all that moved. She was a bombshell, all sweet, womanly curves, barely contained in her undies.
“I want you to know,” she went on furiously, still not seeing Luke, “there’s no way in hell I’m accepting your break-up message. You hear me, Teddy? I’m not accepting it because I’m breaking up with you. And while we’re at it, who even does that? Who breaks up with someone by text? I’ll tell you who, Teddy, a real jerk, that’s who– Hello? Dammit!”
Pulling the phone from her ear, she stared at the screen and then punched a few keys before whipping it back up to her ear. “Your voice mail cut me off before I finished,” she said. “You having sex in your office while I was in the building? Totally cliché. But not telling me that you weren’t planning to resign the lease? That’s just rotten to the core, Teddy. And don’t bother calling me back on this. Oh, wait, that’s right, you don’t call – you text!” She punched the “off” button on her phone and tossed it to the counter, hands on hips, steam coming out her ears. Then she thunked her forehead against the refrigerator a few times before going stock still, her head pressed to the cool, steel door.
Had she knocked herself out? Luke wondered.

“It’s just one bad day,” she whispered, still in the perfect position for him to pat her down for weapons.
Not that she was carrying – well, except for that lethal bod.
“Just one really rotten, badass day,” she repeated softly, and Luke had to disagree.
“Not from where I’m standing,” he said.

Another?? OKAY!
She did her best to appear as though she hadn’t just been sitting in an interrogation room for hours being questioned about a crime she hadn’t committed. But as it turned out, the pretense was far too much for her overloaded emotions, and she closed her eyes, trying to disappear into the seat. If she disappeared, then he couldn’t see her fall apart.
“You okay?” he asked. Her throat tightened further, and she shook her head. Nope. Not okay. Not even close.
“Don’t,” she said.
“Don’t what?”
“Don’t be nice to me right now. I’ll lose it.”
With surprising gentleness, he pushed the hair from her face, then clicked open her seatbelt.
It was all the invitation she was going to get, and all the invitation she needed. Turning to him, she burrowed in as steady, strong arms closed around her. He stroked a hand down her back, and she pressed her face into the crook of his neck, soaking in the warm comfort he offered. It was the safest and most secure she’d felt in far too long and she wasn’t sure she was going to be able to let go.
“Ali.”
Afraid he was going to pull away before she was done soaking him in, she squirmed a little closer. “Please not yet.”
He tightened his grip. “It’s okay. I’ve got you.”
Thank God. For just this one second, someone had her.

Anyone else desperately awaiting It Had to Be You?

*Cover Reveal* J. Lynn's Frigid + Teasers

Hello, am i*Heart*BigBooks and I am a Jennifer L. Armentrout fanatic. (insert chorus of, "Hi, i*Heart*BigBooks!") Seriously. I think a support group is needed.

ANYway. I am here to happily reveal the cover for her upcoming NA novel Frigid. Before telling you a little about it, I won't keep you in suspense, because this cover's SQUEE-inducing.

Without any further ado, here it is:

GORGEOUS, Right? I saw some shots from the photo shoot, and this cover really delivered!

Frigid by J. Lynn (aka, Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publication Date: July 30th, 2013 (digital formats) and November 5th, 2013 (print)
Genre: New Adult
For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

DUDE. CAN'T WAIT!!!

And because I like you, some teaser quotes:
Strong arms wrapped around my waist from behind. I was pulled off the stool and my surprised shriek was cut off when my back hit an immoveable wall of muscle. I wasenveloped in a bear hug that smelled of the outdoors and light cologne. Only one person in this world gave me hugs like this or felt that hard… that good.

Kyler’s deep voice rumbled through my body. “When did you get here?”

My feet still weren’t touching the floor. “A little bit ago,” I gasped out, gripping his forearms through his sweater. “What the hell? Have you been hiding from me?”

Paul leaned back against the bar and grinned, but it was strained. Not that I could blame him. Kyler kind of always busted in and took over every situation. “I haven’t been hiding,” I told him, flushing when my eyes met Paul’s. “And can you put me down?”

“What if I don’t?” he teased. “You’re so little I could put you in my pocket.”

“What?” I laughed. “Put me down, you idiot. I was having a conversation.”

“Sorry, Paul, I’m stealing her.” Kyler backed away, giving me no choice, because there was no way I was breaking his hold. He turned, dropping into a chair nowhere near the table he’d been at, pulling me into his lap so I was sitting sideways. He looped his arms around my waist. “I’m not happy with you, Syd.”

I arched a brow as my heart rate picked up. He was the only person who called me Syd; the only person I let call me that without kicking them in the shin. “Really? Over what?”

“You’re talking to that douche.”

“What douche?”

He leaned in, resting his forehead against mine, and my breath stalled in my chest. Why must he always get so damn close? And he really, truly, always did. “Paul.”

“What about him?” I put my hands on his shoulders to push back, but his arms tightened, holding me in place. “Are you drunk?” “Am I drunk? Aw, now you’ve gone and hurt my feelings, Syd.”

I smirked. “You don’t have any feelings.”

“Now. Now. That wasn’t very nice.” His impossibly long lashes lowered, shielding his eyes as he lifted his head, rubbing his cheek along mine. My fingers dug into his shoulders as desire twisted tight in my center. “I have all these feels, Syd.” It took me a moment to respond. “You’re so full of it.”

He rubbed his cheek against me like a cat seeking a belly rub, and I fought the urge to purr. “I’m full of something.”

“Piss and vinegar?” I suggested as I desperately tried to ignore the way my pulse pounded in all the right places.”

He chuckled deep in his throat as he leaned back against the seat he took hostage. “Back to the serious nature of our conversation.”

“Which is: why are you playing Santa right now?”

Kyler’s lashes lifted and his eyes drilled into mine. “Hmm, now that sounds interesting. Have you’ve been naughty or nice this year, Syd?”

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. My cheeks burned as his gaze turned knowing.

“I know what you’ve been.” He kissed my forehead. “You’ve been nice.”

My shoulders slumped. I didn’t want to be nice. I wanted to be naughty like Blondie. When she’d been in his lap minutes before, I doubted Kyler had been teasing her. Maybe I should scoop some ice up and see what he did, except that would require me doing so out of a random glass and that was just gross.

Crash by Nicole Williams
Genre: New Adult
Publication Date: July 18th, 2012

Pressing himself against me, his hand found my hip.

Backing me up against the wall of lockers, his other hand wandered up my arm until it molded around my neck. I went from being a young, marginally innocent girl who liked to dance to a woman with a one track mind. My whole body ached and, when his lips just brushed over mine, it felt like the ache was about to explode.
“Go with me,” he whispered, sucking at my lower lip.
He could have been asking me for my spleen and I would have agreed just as fast. “Okay.” I nodded, sounding as shaky as I felt.

Leaning back, his face was victorious. “So that’s a yes?”
“Jude,” I said in between trying to catch my breath, “that was a hell yes.”

OH, and it gets hotter from there. Just FYI.

*Cover Reveal* Kelley York's Made of Stars

Hello lovelies! I'm please to reveal the cover for what I think will be a very intriguing book.

Without any further ado, here it is:

Made of Stars
by Kelley York
Publication Date: Tentatively, October 2013 by Entangled Publishing

When eighteen-year-old Hunter Jackson and his half sister, Ashlin, return to their dad’s for the first winter in years, they expect everything to be just like the warmer months they’d spent there as kids. And it is—at first. But Chance, the charismatic and adventurous boy who made their summers epic, is harboring deep secrets. Secrets that are quickly spiraling into something else entirely.

The reason they’ve never met Chance’s parents or seen his home is becoming clearer. And what the siblings used to think of as Chance's quirks—the outrageous stories, his clinginess, his dangerous impulsiveness—are now warning signs that something is seriously off.

Then Chance's mom turns up with a bullet to the head, and all eyes shift to Chance and his dad. Hunter and Ashlin know Chance is innocent...they just have to prove it. But how can they protect the boy they both love when they can’t trust a word Chance says?

DUDE.

It's Cover Reveal Time! This book sounds like it's full of intrigue, emotion, and many, many feels. It's definitely made it's way onto my To Be Read List! So without further ado....here we go!

Stripped
Release Date: 05/14/13
Cover designed by: Lisa Poff Photography
Cover reveal organized by: YA Bound

Summary from Goodreads:

“I like you.” His voice is low and soft, which I don’t deserve. I look away, down the rutted parking lot.
“Don’t…waste those words on me.”

He touches my cheek. “You just need someone to show you.”

“No.” I ease back again. “I don’t. So please, Torrin, stop trying to swoop in and save me. I don’t need saving.”

College freshman Quinn Montgomery will do anything to avoid the mistake her sister made—killing herself over a boy. But when she is forced into nude modeling at a local college to support her family after a bankruptcy, she begins to crack, just enough to let Torrin, the university’s top varsity oarsman, see that the real Quinn is not as feisty and unapproachable as she wants everyone to think. But letting someone in comes at a steep cost and, it turns out, Torrin is connected to Quinn’s family in more ways than she could ever imagine.

Unbroken
by Melody Grace

Synopsis:
"Mom always told me there are two kinds of love in this world: the steady breeze, and the hurricane. Emerson Ray was my hurricane…"

Juliet McKenzie was an innocent eighteen-year old when she spent the summer in Cedar Cove—and fell head over heels in love with Emerson. Complicated, intense Emerson, the local bad boy. His blue eyes hid dark secrets, and just one touch could set Juliet ablaze. Their love was demanding and all-consuming, but when summer ended, tragedy tore them apart. Juliet swore she’d never go back, and she’s kept that promise… Until now.

Four years later, Juliet’s done her best to rebuild the wreckage of her shattered life. She’s got a great boyfriend, and a steady job planned after she graduates. Returning to Cedar Cove to pack up her family’s beach house to prepare it for sale, Juliet is determined that nothing will stand in the way of her future. But one look from Emerson, and all her old desire comes flooding back. He let her go once, but this time, he’s not giving up without a fight. And Emerson fights dirty.

A heartbreaking history. An unstoppable passion. Torn between her past and future, Juliet struggles to separate love from desire. But will they find a way to overcome their tragic secrets—together? And after so much damage has been done, can a love remain unbroken?

Before we get to the review, let me give you a little teaser to whet your appetite:

My mom always said there are two kinds of love in this world: the steady breeze, and the hurricane.
The steady breeze is slow and patient. It fills the sails of the boats in the harbor, and lifts laundry on the line. It cools you on a hot summer‘s day; brings the leaves of fall, like clockwork every year. You can count on a breeze, steady and sure and true.
But there‘s nothing steady about a hurricane. It rips through town, reckless, sending the ocean foaming up the shore, felling trees and power lines and anyone dumb or fucked-up enough to stand in its path. Sure, it‘s a thrill like nothing you‘ve ever known: your pulse kicks, your body calls to it, like a spirit possessed. It‘s wild and breathless and all-consuming.
But what comes next?
“You see a hurricane coming, you run.” My mom told me, the summer I turned eighteen. “You shut the doors, and you bar the windows. Because come morning, there‘ll be nothing but the wreckage left behind.”
Emerson Ray was my hurricane.

My thoughts:

Unbroken, the debut novel by Melody Grace, is a beautifully written story of the possibility of second chances.

Juliet, our female protagonist, had been damaged and broken. She set her life back into place by choosing a safe, stable path, free from risk. She left behind her passions (photography, her ex, Emerson), for both a college major and a boyfriend who could provide her with the security and safety she never had (with Emerson or her family). Yet, she still feels the same strong undercurrent and pull towards her ex that she always felt. When she is forced to face her past, she is put to the test to see how well she has truly moved on.

Emerson is a possessive, alpha male, with an explosively fiery temper. He is also a man with a caring, honorable, and sweet side to him. Both sides seem to be constantly at war within him.

When the two share the page, their passion is volatile, causing both intense love scenes and scenes so raw in conflict that it made my stomach physically hurt. They are so full of insecurities, secrets from their past, coupled with their inability to communicate with each other. The question becomes whether or not this second chance is their opportunity to correct what went wrong the first time around.

Things I love: sailboats, photography dark rooms, picnics, hurricanes, and second chances. (Also, Daniel. Love, loved Daniel.)

The Final Verdict:
Juliet and Emerson sucked me into their story of an all consuming love. Their initial interactions are all about lust, but as the story unfolds, the deep understanding and love rises to the surface to commingle with the lust, creating a passionate story of two damaged people finding their way back to one another.
I loved the plot line and I loved the characters. I loved the steamy scenes, which were oh, so hot. I only wished that more depth and history of their relationship could have been developed and explored. We are told of their love, but we don’t get to experience it as much as I would have liked. Regardless, I found the conclusion immensely satisfying.
Finally, Melody Grace exhibits a wonderfully exquisite and mature narrative voice that captivated me from the very first page.
Overall this was a wonderful freshman novel and I feel certain that I can expect more great things to come from Ms. Grace.

Rating:

As a side note, the lyrics of this song Sway by Bic Runga (*Flashback to American Pie*) really made me think of this book from Juliet's point of view.
Don't stray
Don't ever go away
I should be much too smart for this
You know it gets the better
Of me sometimes
When you and I collide
I fall into an ocean of you
Pull me out in time
Don't let me drown
Let me down
I say its all because of you and here I go
Losing my control
I'm practising your name
So I can say it to your face it doesn't seem right
To look you in the eye
And let all the things you mean to me
Come tumbling out my mouth indeed its time
Tell you why
I say its infinately true
Say you'll stay
Don't come and go
Like you do
Sway my way...

Check it out!

*Waiting on Wednesdays* Katie McGarry's Dare You To

*This meme is brought to you by Breaking the Spine*

I may have mentioned before that patience is not my strong suit. I am very much one to enjoy immediate gratification, HOWEVER some things are worth the wait (she says reluctantly...).

Katie McGarry roared onto the scene with her spectacular debut Young Adult novel, Pushing the Limits and has quickly gained quite the loyal following, myself included. Her follow up is one that I've been craving since I turned the last page of Pushing the Limits.

Dare You To
by Katie McGarry
Publication Date: May 28th, 2013

Synopsis:
Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. "Dance with me, Beth."

"No." I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again....

"I dare you..."

If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

Katie McGarry captivated readers with her “riveting, emotional”* Young Adult debut, Pushing the Limits. In this gripping novella, she tells the story of Lila and Lincoln, who discover that sometimes it’s worth crossing the line for love…

Hurting Lila is the last thing Lincoln wanted. For two years, her letters have been the only thing getting him through the day.
